Job Purpose
To assist the driver in the loading and offloading of glass and maneuvering of the vehicle in the safest possible manner for delivery to customers. Ensure that trucks are loaded and unloaded on a level surface or as close to it as possible, securing loads according to procedures, and double-checking during trips that the glass is properly tied and loaded safely.
Main Objectives
- Identify the most suitable places to load and offload the vehicle.
- Complete quality check sheets during loading.
- Load and offload in a safe manner.
- Assist the driver and report any damage to property.
- Ensure the load is restrained before leaving a customer.
- Assist the driver in confined spaces or unseen areas.
- Assist with paperwork control where possible.
- Follow all work instructions, standard operating procedures, and business rules.
- Adhere to environmental, safety, and housekeeping standards.
- Perform any other tasks requested by the factory supervisor and be willing to work overtime and weekends when required.
Qualifications:
- Grade 12
- Code 10 or higher valid driver’s license with PrDP is an advantage.
