DHET Data Capture: Student Records and MIS Work for Grade 12 Applicants

Maluti TVET College, under the Department of Higher Education and Training, is offering a Data Capture (MIS) position at its Main Campus for applicants with Grade 12, NCV Level 4 or another relevant NQF Level 4 or 5 qualification.

The position is offered on a 12-month council-paid contract with a salary of R201 093 per year at Level 04.

The successful candidate will work with student registrations, examination information, academic records, databases and college management information systems.

What will you do as a Data Capture employee?

Your main responsibility will be to capture, verify and maintain student and academic information across the college’s systems and records.

Your duties will include:

  • Capturing student registration information
  • Recording payments
  • Issuing student numbers
  • Capturing examination marks
  • Capturing student absentee records
  • Verifying information
  • Correcting or querying missing information
  • Updating registers
  • Maintaining student files
  • Backing up captured information
  • Retrieving and distributing examination results

What does MIS mean?

MIS stands for Management Information System.

In this role, you will work with information used by the college to manage student records, registrations, examinations and reporting.

The position therefore combines data capturing with records management and administrative support.

Will you work with student registrations?

Yes. During registration periods, you may need to:

  • Capture enrolment information
  • Record payments
  • Issue student numbers
  • Issue proof of registration
  • Issue student cards

You will need to make sure the information entered into the system matches the supporting records.

What examination information will you handle?

The role includes extensive examination administration.
