Purpose of the role
The Junior Photographer is responsible for photographing Weylandts’ homeware and furniture pack shots which get loaded onto the website.
The Junior Photographer will report to the Marketing Manager and Senior Creative and work alongside the content stylist, studio assistants and retoucher. All related administration around the shoots forms part of the responsibilities for this role.
Main Accountabilities
- Product pack shot photography
- Assisting senior photographer with lifestyle photography when necessary
- Image processing and retouching, to meet specified requirements
- Quality control of all images shot and loaded onto the website, ensuring all images loaded are always on brand and follow the prescribed visual guidelines
- Adding keywords, tags and other attributes to images
- Archiving images, managing image library
- Respective administration within the photographer role
- Ability to manage studio assistants
- Housekeeping of photographic studio
Required qualifications and experience
- A related tertiary qualification
- 1-3 years’ experience in a photographic / admin related role
- Proficient in Adobe Photoshop CS6, Adobe Bridge and Adobe Lightroom 5
- Complete, professional knowledge of DSLRs, lenses and photographic accessories
- Professional knowledge of lighting techniques as well as natural lighting
- Product styling abilities
- Flexible to work after hours when required
- A valid driver’s license and own transport
