SAFRIPOL Learnership Programme for Young South Africans

SAFRIPOL invites young South Africans to apply for their Experiential Learnership Programme. This programme offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience and develop technical skills in the field of Mechanical Engineering.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Mechanical Engineering (BEng/BSc (Honours) Eng, National Diploma, or B Tech)
  • Secondary Education: Grade 12 with Mathematics and Physical Science

Minimum Experience:

  • None required

Main Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to achieving Asset Mechanical Reliability (AMR) business objectives and assist the operations team in meeting Asset Capability (AC) objectives safely and cost-effectively.
  • Provide technical support for the day-to-day operation of the plants.
  • Analyse maintenance inspection feedback and address deviations and improvement opportunities.
  • Analyse weekly plant performance, breakdowns on equipment, call-outs, and propose solutions to improve performance.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and preservation of the maintenance budget.
  • Assist in the development of maintenance strategies and repair procedures.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of equipment failures and develop remedial actions.
  • Identify, initiate, and implement improvement projects.
  • Develop quality control plans for equipment repairs.

Minimum Critical Requirements:

  • Good interpersonal effectiveness, leadership, productivity focus, technical capability, initiative, and strong assertiveness.
  • Computer literate.
  • Willingness to learn and take responsibility for own development.
