SAIPA offers two Learnerships registered on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) at Level 8.
These learnerships are designed to support the objectives of the NQF, including creating an integrated national framework for learning achievements, enhancing the quality of education and training, and facilitating access to education, training, and career progression.
Objectives of the NQF
- Create an integrated national framework for learning achievements.
- Facilitate access, mobility, and progression within education, training, and career paths.
- Enhance the quality of education and training.
- Accelerate the redress of past unfair discrimination in education, training, and employment opportunities.
- Contribute to the full personal development of each learner and the social and economic development of the nation.
Requirements
- Employment: Must be employed at an Approved Training Centre (ATC) that is an Accounting Firm registered with SAIPA. You can view a list of learnership vacancies on SAIPA’s website or on Facebook and LinkedIn. Alternatively, approach ATCs for employment. List of ATCs
- Education: Must be studying towards or have completed a B Com Degree in Accounting at a recognized university, including the following core subjects:
- Financial Accounting 3
- Taxation 2
- Auditing or Internal Auditing 2 or Internal Control & Code of Ethics
- Corporate Law 1 or Commercial Law 2
- Management Accounting 2
Learnership Duration
- The learnership spans 3 years. Upon completion of training and studies, trainee accountants must undergo the Professional Evaluation before being granted full membership.
Application Process
- Visit the SAIPA website and click on “Apply”.
- Select “Individual” and choose “Trainee” from the dropdown menu.
- Prepare the following documents:
- Certified copy of Degree or Academic record
- Certified copy of ID
- Employment contract
- Payment of administration fees (R346.16)
