Sasol Customer Care Clerk Opportunity Opens in Secunda Vehicle Services
Sasol is looking for a Customer Care Clerk in Secunda to support day-to-day administration inside its vehicle service centre, where the work connects customer service with workshop planning, maintenance coordination and fleet operations.
The position requires a school-leaving qualification, at least two years of relevant experience and a valid Code 08 or Code E driver’s licence.
Applications close on 17 September 2026.
What will you do in the vehicle service centre?
You will help coordinate the flow of vehicles through the service and maintenance process.
Your daily work will include:
- Liaising with clients about vehicle servicing
- Helping plan and schedule vehicle work
- Receiving vehicles into the service process
- Coordinating inspections
- Tracking workshop progress
- Communicating with external service providers
- Updating vehicle history information
- Preparing daily reports
- Supporting planners and maintenance teams
The position is administrative, but it sits close to the operational side of fleet maintenance.
How will you work with customers?
You will communicate with clients about the servicing and maintenance of their vehicles.
This includes helping with the scoping, scheduling and receiving of vehicles before work begins.
Clear communication will matter because customers need accurate information about where their vehicles are in the service process and what happens next.
How will you support workshop planning?
You will help keep information moving between planners and Sasol’s internal garage maintenance teams.
That means making sure vehicle information, schedules and progress updates reach the right people at the right time.
Good coordination can reduce delays and help the workshop manage its workload more efficiently.
What will vehicle inspections involve?
You will coordinate pre-service and post-service or maintenance inspections with quality-control staff.
These inspections help confirm the condition of a vehicle before work begins and after maintenance has been completed.
You will therefore need to make sure the inspection process is properly coordinated and that the relevant information is available to the teams involved.
Will you monitor vehicles inside the workshop?
You will complete daily workshop walk-downs and report on the progress of vehicles undergoing work.
This gives you a practical view of how the workshop is performing rather than relying only on administrative records.
You will need to identify where vehicles are in the process and communicate progress back to the relevant teams.
How will external service providers fit into the work?
Some vehicle work may be handled by external service providers.
You will liaise with these providers and follow up on the progress of work they are performing.
This requires organised communication because external work still needs to fit into the wider maintenance schedule.
What reporting will you handle?
You will update daily spreadsheets with information about vehicle histories and prepare operational reports.
Accurate records are important because they help teams understand what work has been completed, what is still outstanding and how individual vehicles have been maintained over time.
You should therefore be comfortable working with administrative information and keeping records up to date.
What qualifications do you need?
You need a:
- High School qualification
- School Diploma
- Similar school-leaving qualification
Sasol also requires at least two years of relevant work experience.
Do you need a driver’s licence?
You need a valid:
- Code 08 driver’s licence, or
- Code E driver’s licence
A licence is relevant because the position works directly with vehicles and the service-centre environment.
Which skills will matter most?
You will need to communicate clearly and stay organised while managing several tasks at the same time.
Sasol is looking for strengths in areas such as:
- Office administration
- Planning and organisation
- Attention to detail
- Multitasking
- Accountability
- Action planning
- Managing complexity
- Delivering results
You should also be comfortable coordinating with different teams, customers and service providers.
Why is this more than a standard admin position?
The role sits between administration and vehicle maintenance operations.
You will not be repairing vehicles yourself, but your work helps make sure that vehicles enter the workshop correctly, inspections happen, maintenance teams receive the right information and customers receive progress updates.
That gives the position a strong fleet-service and workshop-operations focus.
What experience could this build?
Experience in this position can support future work in areas such as:
- Fleet Administration
- Workshop Coordination
- Vehicle Maintenance Planning
- Customer Service
- Fleet Operations
- Service Centre Administration
- Transport Support
- Maintenance Administration
It can be especially useful if you want to build a career around fleet services or operational administration.
Where is the position based?
The position is based in Secunda, Mpumalanga within Sasol’s Regional Operations and Asset Services environment.
How do you apply?
Applications must be submitted through the Sasol careers portal.
