About the Role
This position is ideal for someone looking to gain valuable administrative experience within the gaming sector. As a Betting Clerk, you’ll manage day-to-day branch operations including cash handling, processing bets, customer service, and ensuring the branch remains fully compliant and welcoming.
Minimum Requirements
- 1 to 2 years of experience in the gaming or customer service industry
Key Responsibilities
Branch Operations & Sales
- Update betting boards, memos, and game results throughout the day
- Stay informed on betting rules, odds, pay-outs, and confirmation limits
- Notify Team Leaders of large bets requiring attention
Cash Management
- Maintain accurate float and manage daily cash transactions
- Conduct interim cash checks during shifts
- Address shortages under R250 immediately and report discrepancies to Team Leader
Branch Presentation
- Ensure your workstation and the overall branch are neat and functional
- Report equipment or system faults promptly
Customer Service
- Greet customers warmly and handle queries professionally
- Promote a “service with a smile” approach
- Build relationships with regular customers
- Quickly respond to complaints and ensure resolution
Skills You Need to Bring
- Strong communication and listening skills
- Basic knowledge of betting and betting types
- Friendly, professional attitude with good problem-solving abilities
