AECI Chemicals is offering two temporary training opportunities for Analytical Chemistry students who need workplace exposure to complete their qualifications.
As an In-service Trainee, you’ll support the daily operations of the Quality Control (QC) and Technical laboratories. From sampling and testing raw materials to assisting in research and development trials, this opportunity will give you a well-rounded experience in industrial analytical chemistry.
Location: Chloorkop, Gauteng and Umbogintwini, KwaZulu-Natal
Closing Date: 29 April 2025
Key Responsibilities
You’ll be involved in practical lab tasks such as:
- Sampling raw materials, in-process and final products from the plant and warehouse
- Conducting tests on raw materials, packaging, and consumables
- Performing quality checks on products in progress
- Preparing and standardizing reagents
- Performing internal calibration of lab instruments like pH meters, density meters, and scales
- Supporting product development work in technical and R&D labs
Minimum Requirements
To qualify, you must meet the following criteria:
- Grade 12 with Mathematics and Physical Science
- Completed S4 (final semester) in Analytical Chemistry or equivalent
- Computer literate, with working knowledge of MS Word and Excel
